Join us for an enchanting evening at Terra Nova Center of The Brigade of Light, a sacred spiritual retreat center dedicated to honoring and protecting the mystical Blue Ghost Fairies. As a religious 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, we hold these magnificent beings as sacred and work tirelessly to ensure their continued presence and well-being.
Experience the magic of nature as these elusive fireflies dance through the night, illuminating our gardens and grounds with their ethereal glow. This event offers a rare opportunity to connect deeply with these creatures and the land they call home.
Dates: Nightly from May 9th to May 28th, 2025. (Note: Our season is guided by the Blue Ghost Fireflies' natural breeding cycle. Additional dates may be added, but sightings are not guaranteed due to factors such as weather and natural rhythms.)
Time: The event begins at 7:30 PM each night.

With over 30 years of experience in welcoming these beings, we share personal encounters, spiritual insights, and practical conservation practices dedicated to nurturing their habitat and increasing their populations. At Terra Nova Center, conservation is a spiritual practice. We honor the Blue Ghost Fireflies as sacred Blue Fairies and strive to protect their presence through educational programs, land stewardship, and devoted care.

You will be split into groups and head out with your group tour guide. Embark on a serene walk or gentle cart ride (for those with mobility needs) to the viewing spots where the Blue Ghost Fairies are known to appear.

Gather in quiet reverence to experience the Blue Ghost Fireflies. We ask guests to embrace an hour of silence to fully open their hearts and minds to the presence of these sacred beings. Photography is not permitted, encouraging a deeper, more personal experience.

Important Information & FAQs
Weather: Spring weather in Western North Carolina can be unpredictable. We recommend dressing in layers or bringing a small blanket. Events are weather-dependent; if conditions are unfavorable, the event will be canceled for the evening.
What to Bring: Wear comfortable shoes for a short hike. Dress warmly, and consider bringing a blanket for extra comfort.

Experience Guarantee: While we have joyfully encountered the Blue Ghost Fireflies for over 30 years, we cannot guarantee sightings. Weather, breeding cycles, and other natural variables may impact the experience. However, the Blue Ghost Fairies have consistently blessed us with their presence year after year.
